It’s taking all my willpower to not make “a dog walks into a bar” joke because that’s precisely what’s going to happen when PG&J’s Dog Bar opens at 800 Baxter Ave. in December.
In fact, it’ll be a lot of dogs walking into a bar. Except it’s no ordinary bar. It’s actually a membership-based dog park with a bar. Because the only thing better than dogs is dogs and drinks.
That’s what owner and Louisvillian Gina Nobles found when she and her husband, Ben, were members of such a place when they lived in Austin, Texas. “It’s a growing a trend in the country,” Nobles said, with more than two dozen dog park bars nationwide.
